Education

Dempsey Scott Harrison III is the Vice President and Webmaster of WhiteCollarSports, LLC. He attended Lutheran West and Cass Technical High Schools. Before leaving for Cass Tech at the beginning of his sophomore year, Harrison played junior varsity football and lettered in track and field as a freshman at Lutheran West. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts degree in Communication Media-Arts from Wayne State University.

Career Highlights

Mr. Harrison is uniquely qualified to present the "Business of Game" to the market place as his life and career are marked with experience in the areas of sports broadcasting, customer relations, youth athletics, and education. Harrison served as a radio sports talk-show host and reporter for WCHB-1200 AM Detroit, WJR-760 AM Detroit, and was a correspondent for numerous other radio outlets across the country. He was responsible for providing live updates and conducting interviews at all professional and collegiate sports events across the U.S., Michigan, and Canada. Harrison's proudest achievement was covering The NBA/FIBA McDonald's Championship in London, England. Harrison also worked in television as a sports reporter for Comcast Cablevision Detroit and as a production assistant for The NBA on TNT, ABC's College Football, The Detroit Pistons, and The Detroit Tigers. He also served as a soccer instructor for the National Youth Sports Program at The University of Detroit-Mercy.

In customer relations, Mr. Harrison worked with Allnet/Frontier Communications and Ford Motor Company. He was charged with contacting new and existing customers regarding their telecommunication and automotive needs. Mr. Harrison was assigned specific regions of the U.S. to analyze customer calling patterns and to assess the appropriateness of products sold.

In education, Mr. Harrison worked as a substitute teacher for the Detroit Public Schools. He was responsible for students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. His experience at The Detroit Public Schools set him on the course for teaching at the collegiate level. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at The University of Detroit-Mercy, Wayne County Community College, Henry Ford Community College, and Washtenaw Community College. Mr. Harrison has also taught at Wayne State University, Spring Arbor University, Baker College, and The University of Phoenix. Mr. Harrison currently teaches public speaking and interpersonal communication. He also has taught American popular culture, film studies, broadcast news writing, and business literature.
